| | Notices | Welcome to PTSD Forum. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a life threatening, debilitating disorder that can break down a sufferer’s body through anxiety and stress. Further it poses a significant suicide risk resulting from the brains neurological imbalance and chemical depression. Sufferers often live in denial, thus this community is aimed at helping PTSD sufferers help themselves through others experiences, guidance and education. We are here for the sufferer, spouse and families surrounding PTSD. Spouses and family are too often forgotten in this equation, and often they receive all the worst that PTSD has to offer. If you're involved in any way with PTSD, get registered and help yourself now. Non-active members will eventually be deleted. If you are not a sufferer, carer or someone within the mental health industry, and active, then there is little reason for you to be a member of this forum. Non-active members with zero posts are deleted periodically during the year. | | |

| | Hey...I want the recipe for those chocolate mint truffles!!!
And mangos....yummm....it reminds me of my time teaching in Texas. I taught in inner-city San Antonio, to kids who were born into Mexican gangs. Tough, tough group, but incredibly satisfying. Taught math and science to them (or at least tried to). One day I was reading something about mangos...and I (being from the East Coast of the US) pronounced them "main-goes"....the kids burst out in hysterics, laughing at the way I pronounced it....one of the brave ones finally said, "Miss, it's not main-goes...it's mahn-goes..."
I had to give a quick lesson on the differences between languages and dialects....the whole "tomaytoes vs. Tomahtoes" thing...I didn't even get into the English/Spanish/Spanglish thing...

| | Suppose I should eat more often, reading these craving posts reminds me I'm hungry. I then spend money. Right now I'm craving hot, cooked garlic and buttered mushrooms, greek salad w/ house dressing and a choc. coated vanilla icecream bar. My favorite foods are those cooked for and placed right there in front of me. Think I'll go now before anyone acknowledges, that I figure I have far more import. things to do then prepare food for myself. See yah..... |
